Prof. Yu-heng Tseng at the Institute of Oceanography receives 2020 Outstanding Research Award, Ministry of Science and Technology. Prof. Yu-heng Tseng proposes a new Pacific variability framework based on a series of works progressed in the last few years. The proposed new North Pacific climate framework also has some important implications on the atmospheric and oceanic dynamics in the Pacific. Particularly, this can further enhance the ENSO prediction, which is essential to the social and environmental impacts globally. This award is to recognize scientific and technological talents who have made outstanding research performance.
