Under light-wind conditions, measurements of wind stress and near-surface flow fields remain scarce, leading to uncertainties in predictive models. We conduct a direct numerical simulation study of coupled air\u2013water flow that resolves gravity-capillary waves and subsurface turbulence in detail. Results reveal wind stress magnitudes consistent with operational parameterizations, an irregular sea state with directional spreading, and enhanced subsurface dissipation driven by microbreaking events.
